Georgielocks’ Irish Dance Shop
Terms & Conditions
Sales & Returns
- To place your order please either add items to your basket and continue to checkout OR telephone the shop during opening hours.
- Returns are accepted on NEW items only (excluding clearance items). You must contact the shop by telephone or email within 7 days of receiving your order to notify us of your intention to return any item/s and be issued a returns authorisation code. Said item/s must be received back in the shop within a further 7 days. Returned items must be in original unused and unmarked condition with all labels/tags still attached. If your item is supplied in a box or bag this must also be returned in the condition it was received (ie: please do not write on, tear or otherwise deface the protective packaging), fees will be charged should we have to repackage a returned item. Postal packaging need not be returned except where an item has been damaged in transit. All parts of the item must be returned together; ie: shoe laces must be returned with the shoes they were packed with. Goods may be exchanged subject to you, the customer, paying any size/style supplement and postage for the replacement item/s. Alternatively you may request a refund of the purchase price. Postage is non-refundable.
- Returned goods are always examined before refunds/exchanges are issued. If the item returned is deemed to have been used, damaged or marked in any way no refund or exchange will be made and the item will be returned to you.
- All returned items must be accompanied by a returns form & authorisation code. Any items received without the required form and code will incur an administration fee of 10% of the purchase price in addition to any discretionary charges.
- Faulty goods: Please notify us of any faults immediately. Faulty goods may be returned for refund or exchange during the first 30 days after purchase. Refunds in this case will be for the full amount, including p&p and exchanges will not be subject to further charges for p&p. After 30 days returns will be discretionary and each case will be determined on its own merits; eg after consultation with the manufacturer. *Please note: if the goods are returned as faulty but after examination the fault is found to be with the user the goods will be returned to the customer and no refund or exchange will be issued. If you are unsure whether a fault is due to a manufacturing problem or how the item has been used, please contact us with details of the problem and we will be able to advise you.
- Returns from non-EU countries; you must indicate on the customs form that the item/s is/are being returned to the vendor and that they originated in the UK. If an item incurs customs charges it will not be collected and remains your responsibility
- Wigs: Wigs are subject to hygiene rules. Therefore any returns are discretionary and may be subject to a re-stocking fee. Where a wig is supplied boxed, the box must be returned unaltered along with the wig.
- Special Order items are non-returnable unless faulty.
- Second-hand and clearance items are non-returnable under any circumstances.
- CDs and DVDs are non-returnable.
- Tights etc may only be returned if UNOPENED.
- It is not our intention to charge fees other than postage for returned items. However, due to the high numbers of returns not following correct procedure it has become necessary in these cases in order to keep our prices down. Our costs are spiraling because of non-compliance and rough handling!
Postage and Packing
- The amount you see in your basket for postage is the amount it would cost to send an empty packet by your chosen method. This amount is subject to the additional cost of each item being sent. The least amount an order will cost to post is £2.50 (1 pair socks by first class signed-for post to a UK address). The most will be around 100GBP (a large Irish Dance dress by priority courier to a North American or Australasian address).
- P&p charges include dedicated packaging and any relevant handling fees
- Multiple items sent to the same address in the same parcel may cost less to post than you may initially be charged. However, large overpayments will be refunded. If paying by cheque or postal order, please await confirmation of the total before sending your payment as refunds for overpayments will NOT be made in these instances.
- Consignments containing special order items will not be dispatched until all items are in stock. Should you wish your other purchases to be sent separately please order separately.
- Customs charges are the responsibility of the purchaser. We will NOT make false statements on customs forms – they are legal documents. We cannot be held responsible for delays or charges made by your country’s customs and excise.
- For UK domestic customers, please contact us if your item has not arrived within 7 days of placing your order (unless economy delivery was selected) and we will look into it for you. Unfortunately the Royal Mail will not allow claims for items unless 15 working days has passed, so we cannot send replacements for lost items out until then. If you should receive a replacement for an item thought to be lost which later arrives in the post you will be responsible for its immediate return to us.
- Overseas customers should check with their local post office if their order is not received within two weeks. Please do not contact us for items not sent by recorded post until 3 weeks have passed since placing your order as these parcels are untracked and subject to the same time constraints as domestic parcels. Please contact us if your recorded or courier delivery item has not arrived after two weeks (please check with your local post office first as more often than not this is where the parcels are found!). If a duplicate is sent and the original order subsequently arrives you are responsible for its immediate return to us.
